About MOTS-C
MOTS-C (Mitochondrial Open Reading frame of the Twelve S rRNA-c) is a 16-residue peptide encoded by mitochondrial DNA, identified as a key regulator of metabolic homeostasis. Researchers use it to study AMPK activation, insulin sensitivity, glucose homeostasis and metabolic stress resistance. Each 10 mg vial is synthesized by solid-phase Fmoc chemistry, purified to ≥99% by HPLC and confirmed by mass spectrometry. Lyophilized under inert atmosphere, it ships with a lot-specific Certificate of Analysis.
Mechanism of action
