About Melanotan-II
Melanotan-II (MT-II) is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide designed as a non-selective α-MSH analog, targeting the melanocortin receptors MC1R, MC3R, MC4R and MC5R. Its cyclic structure gives it markedly higher metabolic stability than the endogenous peptide, making it a reference tool to study melanogenesis, central appetite regulation and MC4R-mediated behaviors. Each 10 mg vial is synthesized in solid phase to ≥99% HPLC, lyophilized under inert atmosphere and shipped with a lot-specific COA.
Mechanism of action
Activates the MC1R–MC5R melanocortin receptors — studied for cutaneous melanogenesis and central signaling via MC3R/MC4R.
