About LL-37
LL-37 is a 37-residue amphipathic α-helical peptide cleaved from the human cathelicidin precursor hCAP-18. As the sole human cathelicidin, it occupies a unique position in innate-immunity research, acting as both a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent and a powerful immunomodulator. Researchers use LL-37 to investigate biofilm disruption, wound-healing kinetics, angiogenesis and the cross-talk between epithelial barriers and the adaptive immune system. The peptide is synthesized via solid-phase Fmoc chemistry, purified to ≥99% by reverse-phase HPLC and confirmed by ESI-MS.
